The Story of Our Team

The Israeli Equestrian Federation was established in 1964, but it was only in 1998 that individual riders first represented Israel at the World Equestrian Games.

Twenty years later, a new memorable milestone was reached in our sport’s history.

Four show jumping riders entered the arena in Tryon (USA) for the World Equestrian Games and proudly represented us as a team for the first time.

With two major highlights, the year 2019 was a “dream-come-true” for our newly established team.

In June of that year, our team made history, winning the first-ever ticket to the Olympic Games in show jumping.

And later in August, we sent our biggest delegation ever to the European Championship in Rotterdam. It included a full jumping team and no less than two dressage riders.

The last time Israel was represented in dressage at the Europeans was with one individual rider 18 years ago.

Our president Ken Lalo summed it up nicely by saying, “this is a long-term journey, making our footprints in equestrian sports between now and 2028.”

The beginnings of a journey, made possible by the dedication, commitment, hard work, and great talent of our riders. We are making our country proud and leaving our mark as a force to be reckoned with in the equestrian arena.
